I love two things: anything with bananas and easy-to-bake desserts. When I came across this recipe on Pinterest, I could not wait to try it out. To the mashed bananas and quick oats, I mixed in a half cup of walnuts and mini chocolate chips and the result was amazing. These cookies are the perfect guilt-free snack and even breakfast meal. Whenever my bananas get too overripe for my liking I turn them into these cookies. They are just as delicious on the second day (if they aren’t eaten before then) as they are fresh out of the oven.
The picture above shows my result from the last time I baked them. I like to make my cookies a bit wider (in circumference) but thinner because I feel that they bake through better. The great thing about this ‘dessert’ is that I can eat half the cookies in one sitting and not feel guilty due to its ingredients. Definitely my type of cookie!
With argon oil being the new ‘it’ product, I figured I would give it a shot with Josie Maran’s Argon Oil. I received it as a sample a few months ago and as my sample is coming to an end, I am not sure if I love it enough to buy the full size bottle. I got the sample towards the end of winter when my skin wasn’t as dry, so I may love and appreciate it more in the colder months.
A couple of weeks ago I came across the Josie Maran Argon Infinity Cream Intensive Creamy Oil and decided to give it a try. I am absolutely in love with this product! I have used it on my lips, on my dry patches, on my eyes as a primer and to make my eyeshadows creamy, and, my ultimate favorite use, I apply it on my cheekbones under my highlighter. Putting this product on my cheekbones under my highlighter makes my face look dewy and keeps my highlighter on all day, two things I love. As the weather gets warmer, I tend to put less product on my face so I am so glad that I came across this cream. This is definitely one argon oil product that I can 100% vouch for!
I am absolutely obsessed with the crop top trend for the spring/summer. It is a perfect match for any high-waisted bottoms. I especially love the look with a high waisted maxi skirt (like this) or high waisted below-the-knee fitted skirt (like this). Wearing the top with something slightly more covered up at the bottom makes the look appear more subtle and classy. This look, if done right, can be worn as both a day and evening outfit. There are so many styles, colors and cuts available in this trend, that it’s hard to settle on just one. I have decided that I will be keeping my selection neutral and purchasing one in black white or nude (here, here or here) so that I can rock it with as many different looks as possible.
I typically try not to spend much on trendy pieces, so I may be purchasing my top from here, here or here. Will you be trying out this trend this season? Go ahead and make your statement!
I used to have an entire cabinet filled with different kinds of perfume and would alternate between them from day to day. I never liked smelling the same way two days in a row and didn’t want to be known for any specific scent. Weird, huh?
About two years ago that all changed when I came across the Trish McEvoy No. 9 Blackberry & Vanilla Musk Parfum (I already wrote about her amazing candle here) and fell absolutely in love with it. The only way that I can describe this perfume is that it’s light, smooth, gentle and one that I always get asked about when wearing. I absolutely hate it when you can smell someone’s perfume before they enter the room and with the No. 9, no matter how much you put on, that never happens. I love scents that are subtle but there, ones that you can only smell if you come close to me. Another thing that I love about this perfume is that it’s not sold everywhere which means that not everyone is wearing it (double bonus)! Shortly after purchasing this perfume, I started disliking all of my old scents and ultimately ended up giving them all away.
Left with no other options, I started wearing the Trish perfume every single day and, surprisingly, did not mind doing that at all. Looking back now, I don’t think I liked wearing the same perfume two days in a row because they were all too overpowering and overwhelming to wear more than once a week.
The next perfume that I bought to add to my new collection was the Burberry Classic Parfum; another light and gentle scent that not many people know about. I have purchased many of Burberry’s perfumes, but nothing compares to this one. It is one that definitely stands out, but not in the least bit overbearing. This is another scent that I always get asked about when wearing it. I tend to wear this perfume in the evenings and the Trish during the day.
I love my two perfumes right now but am always on the hunt for the next scent that will fit perfectly with my new collection.
I have been procrastinating on starting the 30 Day Squat Challenge but have decided that today will be the day! Who doesn’t want a lifted booty and toned quads for the summer? The great thing about this challenge is that it already built in a rest day. As the squat number increases, keep in mind that you don’t have to do all of them at once, but can spread them out throughout the day. Who’s on board with me for the challenge? I will be following up in 30 days on my status. Goodluck to those up for the challenge!
When I am watching a movie, whether at the movies or at home, I need to have something to snack on and nothing beats a bowl or bag of popcorn. Growing up, my brother was a pro at popping popcorn on a stove and adding the necessary toppings, so I never needed to take over that role. Fast forward 7 years, I am craving a bowl of homemade popcorn and my brother is over 200 miles away. I instantly get online and find the easiest recipe (here) for homemade popcorn; so easy that I would call it more of a trick than a recipe. All you need is a brown paper bag, some popcorn kernels and a microwave. The popcorn comes out exactly as tasty and delicious as my brother’s popcorn, but with half the hassle and zero clean up needed. It is easy to burn the popcorn so make sure you stop the microwave as soon as the popping slows down to one to two pops per second. Once it’s done popping, I add a bit of olive oil and some sea salt and there you have yourself a bowl of popcorn that is a lot healthier than movie theater popcorn or store bought popcorn. Do you have any recipes as easy as this one?
I love lighting scented candles whenever I need to unwind after a long day, want to make my apartment feel cozy or simply want to surround myself with a nice scent. Lighting candles is something that I only got into a few years ago, and it all started with Trish McEvoy’s Wild Blueberry Vanilla Scented Candle. This candle is on the expansive side but will easily last you 6 months to 1 year (depending on how often you light it). The great thing about this candle is that you don’t even have to light it to have its fragrance diffuse your house. Just keeping the lid open will instantly make your home smell nice. Another great thing about this candle is that you can smell the wonderful blueberry scent with a hint of vanilla hours after blowing it out; something that is hard to find in other candles. Also, once your candle is done, you can clean out the remaining wax (here is how) and reuse the container (I use mine to store lip glosses).
Another candle line that is very popular are Diptyque candles. This candle line has such great reviews but every time I go into a store to smell them, hoping that I will find a scent that I love just as much as the Trish McEvoy scent, I leave empty handed and disappointed. The Diptyque candles are a bit too strong and overbearing for me and do not meet my three criteria items listed above. I am extremely picky when it comes to all scents, so finding a scented candle that I love is few and far between.
I desperately need to get myself a new Trish McEvoy candle as I was forced to trash my last one after mistakingly leaving it burning for 9+ hours straight while I was at work. Luckily, I came home to a fire-free house!
